The U.S. MNT is set to face Mexico on February 11 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The opening match of the Final Round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying will be played in chilly conditions, recalling memories of the 'Guerra Fria' played in 2001, where temperature at kickoff was a balmy 29 degrees. Goals by Josh Wolff and Earnie Stewart led the U.S. to 2-0 win to start the final round. Four years later, Steve Ralston and DaMarcus Beasley did the business and the U.S. recorded another 2-0 scoreline at Crew Stadium, the victory on Sept. 3, 2005, booking the USA's place in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Good to see the game won't be played near the border. Hopefully it'll be a VERY pro USA crowd. I think the fans near Columbus will show up in great numbers rooting for the Red, White, and Blue.
I don't get why Mexico is always talking junk. It's obvious who the better team is.
It really is too bad it will be in Columbus again. Heard it was going to be in Salt Lake, and some of us fans on the other side of the country were getting excited. Guess I'll just have to watch on T.V. again.
The weather will be a positive factor of the USA but having 20K fans in red screaming for our boys will make a huge difference. It's good to see the blog guys on top of this.
Next up we need some info on the January Camp and the Sweden match so we can start projecting who from that may be used on 2-11-09.
Does somebody know what's going on with the tickets?? Are they sold out? We've been looking for them since the past month of December and couldn't find them.
