One Training Camp Down, One to Go

The U.S. wrapped up their four-day camp in Commerce City today in near perfect conditions. With the shining sun exposing the heights of the Rocky Mountains, the 19-man group had their last chance to impress before U.S. head coach Bob Bradley announces the roster that will train in advance of the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guatemala. The players that are going to remain have the night off in Denver (any restaurant suggestions?), while more call-ups arrive over the next two days as training resumes Monday.

It's been a very useful experience for both players and coaches, and now it's on to the business of playing spoiler to Guatemala on Wednesday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. In the latest news from Guatemala City, midfielder Marco Pappa (Chicago Fire) and Freddy Thompson (Veracruz) have arrived into camp to complete the group called in by new head coach BenjamĂn Monterroso. The Chapines will make their way to Denver on Monday with a final list of 20 players in tow.
