The Rain in Spain ...

(a nod to English teachers across America, particularly our 11th grade teacher Mrs. Kinsley...)

Heavy rains appeared to have followed us from England, as the skies opened for a several hours last night and into the early morning, forcing the cancellation of today's on-field session. Fitness coach Pierre Barrieu will lead a series of gym sessions at the team hotel later this afternoon.

On the bright side, players and staff got a note stuck under their doors this morning informing them of the schedule change, meaning everyone got to sleep in a little bit later. It's kind of like when you wake up to go to school and find out it's been snowing all night and school has been cancelled - at least for those of us who grew up in places where it actually snows. See all you So Cal folks: living in Southern California does have its disadvantages!

True that...snow days rule. I live in Idaho and we even had days canceled at college this year.

If you can't get to school because of snow you can't play soccer..I'll still take my sunshine thanks.

Coincidentally, "My Fair Lady" just concluded on Turner Classic Movies.

And as a resident of Wisconsin who just suffered through the worst winter in recent memory, I echo Jordan's sentiment: snow days do in fact rule!
