Roster release on ESPN2 up next!

If you're reading this, turn on your t.v.! ESPN2 is minutes away from announcing the USA's roster for the first qualifier of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign againt Barbados. Hopefully you've been watching the Spain-Russia match, which was an absolute cracker. The Spaniards moved the ball like magicians as David Villa struck for three en route to a 4-1 victory. Yes, the same Spain team that the U.S. held to one goal a week ago, where Eddie Johnson nearly put the U.S. ahead in the 49th minute ... OK, OK - we're venting.

Check back on ussoccer.com immediately following the ESPN2 broadcast to get the full details on the U.S. squad set to begin the quest of qualifying for their sixth-consecutive World Cup finals.

Ching has had his looks!! Kenny needs to at least be on the roster, if not playing. He might do something that EJ has been unable to do.

Where is Cooper? Unfair.

I agree with everyone about Kenny Cooper. I would love to see him get a game. But you gotta admit that Brian Ching is a better option than Josh Wolff. However it probaly won't matter since Eddie Johnson will be playing most the minutes. Ching has been in good form the last few games for the Dynamo.

I like the roster. Although I think Kenny Cooper deserves to be their, he has great strength and hes a finisher. As for Josh Wolff, I think he's past his prime now. And im very happy to see Danny Califf starting I think he played great vs Arg. He's solid back. Lets have a solid performance sunday boys, ill be their supporting my red white n blue.

Hey IM you said:
"Still want to know why was Mastroeni red carded!"

I have my opinion of what happened, but so far the official word is that Mastroeni was carded for "unsporting behavior" after Edu was carded. Personally I think the ref couldn't read his numbers and screwed up Edu's card for Pablo's second. The ref's we get for the friendlies is laughable man.

Im, to answer your question about Mastroeni's red card, I have my opinion and what the current official statement is. According to the ref, Mastroeni was given a red card for "unsporting behavior" after Edu received his yellow card. Personally I don't see anything like this occur. Its my belief the ref couldn't read his own writing and mixed up Edu's numbers for Pablo's and ended up giving a second card to Mastroeni when it was originally intended for Edu. I'm open for argument but thats how I see it. The refs we get for these friendlies never fails to amuse me...to say the least.
