i also think that its a great lineup to. here's my starting 11 -----------Ching --------Donov --Beasley--------Dempsey --------Klejstan ------------Bradley -pearce--------------Hejduk --------boca----ogoch
and on the bench: Guzan,califf,wynn,clark,torres,Rogers,altidore.
bEveryone if you haven't already seen this you must see Special 1 Tv episode featuring satire/spoof of Sven's "preparations" for USA-Mexico. Hilarious must-see. Go to youtube/doitchampions.
I'm happy with the roster. All the usual suspects. Although I must say, even with lack of playing time at Rangers, I would have loved to see Mo Edu on the squad.
I've seen people upset that Cooper & Adu was left off, but keep in mind, the U.S. are now a deep squad, so Bob won't be able to please everyone. I'm sure Cooper & Freddy will both see playing time as the Hex round moves forward.
Bob's roster is very capable of beating Mexico and I'm really looking forward to Wednesday.
Subs: Altidore, Bornstein. Frankie will get gassed late in the 2nd and what scares me is Wynne stepping on the field for the US in such a big match. Wynne has improved and has +++ but still loses markers sometimes and gives the ball away too cheaply don't u think?
if it were up to me (and of course it isn't, but it's always fun to speculate) I would start the following:
---
Howard Wynne*-Boca-Gooch-Hejduk* Dempsey-Kljestan-Bradley-Torres* Donovan Ching
subbing Altidore for Ching and Pearce/Bornstein for Hejduk ~70 minutes. ----
* Hejduk's played on the left in WCQ before, and would be experienced enough to make up for the fitnes (thanks to camp) that Pearce may lack. Wynne may be young and inexperienced, but is explosive coming out of the flank and played the full 90 against Sweden. He would also have Boca and Gooch to cover for him.
**I would put Torres over DMB here for two reasons: he's a regular starter for his team, and he's very familiar with some of the players on the other side of the ball, since he plays them regularly. Beasley may be more experienced, but he's done little more than ride the pine back in Glasgow.
Good point about Torres-you know Bradley will find a way to utilize him somehow against the team that many thought he would end up playing for. Wouldn't it be great if he buried one in the back of the net in this game!
As the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States, U.S. Soccer has helped chart the course for the sport in the USA for more than 90 years. In this time, the Federation’s mission statement has been very simple and very clear: to make soccer, in all its forms, a preeminent sport in the United States and to continue the development of soccer at all recreational and competitive levels.

pearce. Why is he better than others in the field? I have always seen him get substituted. Has he ever played 90 minutes?
