News Around CONCACAF

Things are heating up around the region as teams put the finishing touches on their preparations for Matchday 1 of final round qualifying. Here's some highlights...
  • Honduras has announced their roster for the Feb. 11 qualifier against Costa Rica. They've called in the big guns, led by Benfica-based striker David Suazo.
Goalkeepers: Noel Valladares, Jhonn Bodden.

Defenders: Mario Beata, Emilio Izaguirre, Víctor Bernárdez, Osman Chávez, Bonieck García, Maynor Figueroa, Iván Guerrero

Midfielders: Ramón Núñez, Hendry Thomas, Emil Martínez, Róger Espinoza, Amado Guevara, Mariano Acevedo, Marvin Chávez, Mario César Rodríguez

Forwards: David Suazo, Carlos Will Mejía, Saúl Martínez, Walter Martínez
  • Trinidad & Tobago have arrived into El Salvador today to continue getting ready for their final round opener at the Estadio Cuscatlan. The Soca Warriors have been training in Argentina for the past couple weeks and got in several tuneup games. Here's a story on their roster
  • El Salvador will play a friendly against Peru on Feb. 6 at the LA Coliseum before heading back to San Salvador.
  • Costa Rica announced a 26-man training camp roster that began workouts on Feb. 3 in San Jose. The Ticos have 19 domestic-based players in training, with the remaining seven joining the group throughout the weekend.
