In Honor of Frankie

In honor of our coffee-swilling, surfing-loving, Bob Marley-quoting right back and his return to camp, here's a look back at the interview we did last year with the two-time World Cup veteran. No better guy to have in the locker room than 'Dukes' ...

Hey guys, what up? Just wanted to let you know that Frankie only played in two World Cups for the United States: France 98 and Korea/Japan 2002. I was just reading the post: "In Honor of Frankie" and noticed that you said he's a three time World Cup Veteran, he's actually a two time World Cup Veteran. He never made it to Germany 2006 due to an ACL tear. Just thought I'd let ya know!

I thought he traveled with the team anyway. I mean I know he didn't play but didn't he still get a roster spot and travel? I remember him in alot of the studio 90 spots. Like when he kept sticking his leg in front of someone during their interview. Frankie Rocks!!!!

He did travel with the team during the 06 World Cup. However, due to the timing of his injury...meaning when the injury occurred, it happened just before the cutoff date to add/drop or make any final changes to your team roster. This is why Chris Albright was called in to replace Frankie. If you check out the FIFA site, his name is not listed on the team roster for the 06 World Cup. Frankie does rock, I hope he makes it to the World Cup next year!

Anyone know the name of the song he was quoting on the whiteboard?
