Colorado Rapids midfielder Pablo Mastroeni has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against Trinidad & Tobago after tweaking his knee in the 3-2 loss against Los Angeles on Sunday. The two-time World Cup veteran has been replaced by Columbus Crew midfielder Brian Carroll. The 27-year-old has six caps for the United States, making his debut in the 6-0 win against Panama in the World Cup qualifier on Oct. 13, 2004 at RFK Stadium. Carroll boarded a flight this morning and will reach Trinidad later this evening.
Crew forward Robbie Rogers has also been sidelined, the Olympic alumnae [sorry, alumnus] experiencing a sore back after taking a hit in the 2-2 draw against Chicago. Fire forward Chris Rolfe has been added to the mix, and will arrive into Port of Spain on Tuesday afternoon prior to the team's official training in the stadium. Rolfe has played eight times for the full team, most recently in an appearance in the USA's 1-0 win in Barbados on June 22 in the second round of qualifying.

'Alumnae' is feminine, 'alumnus' is masculine. Not that Robbie Rogers is all that masculine.

Brian Carroll!
Why no COOPER - 18 Goals this year...runs from end to end, never stops? Come on Bob - get away from the HOMER squad - really, what has Rolfe done this year? One quality goal since McBride has arrived and no set ups. Seems to me the favorites game is back on at the national team level - bring on 2006 again:-(
"Alumna" is feminine, "alumnus" is masculine. To be alumnae, Rogers would have to be both feminine and plural.
