Harkes does a good job. He tells it pretty straight when the ref makes some bad calls, or in the case of today's match, some really bad NO calls. He is very supportive of the US team and is very objective in his criticism of the US players such as Conner Casey who just needs to be dismissed from the National Team all together. I don't care if the BBC is ecstatic, I will take an American like Harkes any day of the week.
I hope an appeal's been put in for Bradley's red... I would at least like to hear the reasoning behind it? Three minutes plus stoppage time to go, in a game that's basically decided, with similar tackles being made for no call. Long story short: what gives?
That being said, I cannot stress enough how happy I am with this win. Team USA is a great experience to root for - the lows can be pretty low some times (remember the dread we felt going into the Egypt game after the Brazil game?) but the highs are just incredible!
An amazing, amazing win! I'm so proud of all the guys for playing like I knew they could. That's the kind of play I've been wanting to see, and thanks to them we all got to see it. Loved both Jozy's and Clint's goals. Would love to see an appeal of Michael Bradley's red card. Of the the ones the U.S. received, that one was the least warranted, in my opinion. Will miss him out on the field on Sunday.
As the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States, U.S. Soccer has helped chart the course for the sport in the USA for more than 90 years. In this time, the Federation’s mission statement has been very simple and very clear: to make soccer, in all its forms, a preeminent sport in the United States and to continue the development of soccer at all recreational and competitive levels.

Don't mean to knock ESPN, but have you heard the BBC announcers? They are ecstatic for the USA!

@Joe
No I'm not kidding. He at least shows excitement in the game, and he's funny sometimes.
Maybe one day he could team up with Kevin Calabro once Calabro has seen enough soccer games with the Sounders.
