Players and staff were aware that we were arriving into South Africa during winter time, but no one expected it to be this cold - except Tim Cook, the team equipment manager, who broke out the stadium jackets today and promptly received a rounding applause.
The temperature during the day has been in the high 30's, and today had the added elements of rain and wind. We're told that this weather is highly unusual; nonetheless, fans headed to South Africa next summer for the World Cup should be prepared for some decidedly mild conditions.

Thanks for the weather report. We will pack for the cold. Time to go up in the attic and get out the snowboarding jacket.
Any other tips for the trip will be appreciated.
