At home 54 games ago ...

The United States played Honduras at RFK Stadium on Matchday 7 of final round qualifying for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. In front of 54,282 fans, an Earnie Stewart goal got the U.S out to an early lead before Honduras equalized. In a crucial sequence of events, Stewart missed a penalty just before halftime while Honduras netted a PK of their own early in the second half to snatch a lead they would not surrender. The 3-2 loss remains the last U.S. defeat at home against CONCACAF opponents, a string of 54 matches in which the team has posted a 44-0-10 record.
