Four Score

Some fun 'four' facts about the win Saturday night against Grenada:
  • It is the first time the U.S. had four different scorers in a Gold Cup match
  • All four goalscorers were part of the 2008 Olympic Team
  • The 4-0 win marked the second highest margin of victory in team history in the Gold Cup, matching two identical scorelines against El Salvador in 2002 and 2007
  • Robbie Rogers became the first U.S. player to record multiple assists and also score a goal since Chris Klein did it in a 4-0 win against Guatemala on Feb. 19, 2006
  • If you add up the jersey numbers of the first three goalscorers (19+10+7) and divide by the fourth (9) you get 4
(Please don't ask who came up with that last one...)

And looking 'fourward':
  • The match against Honduras will be the fourth meeting between the teams in Gold Cup history, the U.S. holding a 2-0-1 advantage
  • There are now four remaining players on the roster in search of their first cap: Colin Clark, Sam Cronin, Jay Heaps, and Luis Robles
ok ... ok ... just one more (unless you have something to add):
  • The U.S. converted four penalties to defeat Honduras in the inaugural Gold Cup final in 1991

No more to add, but the one about the jersey numbers is hilarious. Sounds like someone around there has too much time on their hands... :)
