Homecoming King

What a fantastic night for Santino Quaranta. The D.C. United man has climbed a personal mountain the last three years, and to have his national team career resurrected in front of his friends and family was truly special. Players and staff were quick to congratulate 'Tino on a very emotional night.

He also helped remove a monkey off the back of his home ground, RFK having the dubious distinction of hosting the last U.S. defeat at home against a CONCACAF opponent, which came Sept. 1, 2001, also against Honduras.

I will be a party pooper and say Adu is horrible. There is a reason why he did not play in the Confed Cup.

I don't think Adu is horrible, Christopher, but he does look very out of form. Sitting on the bench will do that to you ;)

Yes, Adu has looked pretty bad in the two games he played. Slow, poor touch, and frankly a bit overweight. He needs to find some playing time. Anywhere -- MLS, Denmark, second division...

Congratulations to Tino and the whole team! Let's keep this going, guys - I want to see that trophy in your hands :)

Christopher, calling Adu horrible is going a little far. Yeah, he did not play so well last night - he seemed perhaps a little flustered with Honduras and their crazy pressuring, and he wasn't able to control the ball so well....but he's still young, and he's got a lot of potential. We've seen him play much better than that. Give him some more playing time with Benfica, some more international games, a little time...I think he will grow into a great player.

Christopher,

You need to watch the game more closely. Freddy didnt score on the header, but put in on goal! Thats the whole idea... put the ball on GOAL, not 50 yards over the crossbar! You also missed his brilliant flick on that I think was missed badly by Ching?! He needs more playing time not only by his club but the US MNT!!!
