U.S. Starts the Gold Cup with a Win

The U.S. MNT started their defense of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in style, beating Grenada 4-0 at Seattle's Qwest Field on Saturday. Robbie Rogers led the charge, netting a goal and also tallying two assists, while Freddy Adu, Stuart Holden (in his first appearance for the MNT), and Charlie Davies rounded out the scoring.

ussoccer.com has a full match report and be sure to head there later for a video of post-match reaction as well.

Oh, and Happy Independence Day everybody!

Great game guys!!

Random question: Why did the Grenade team captain give Cherundolo a plaque before the game?

Great Game guys!!

I was in a party watching the game on a laptop. Could not pay full attention to the game; you all play really good. The back line was always organized. I also like Robbie Rogers, Kyle Beckerman, Freddy Adu, C. Davis and the 2 guys that gave the assists for the 3rd and 4th goal. I guess I am mentioning the entire team :o)
