Conrad Update

Jimmy Conrad has been diagnosed with a concussion following his head-to-head collision just before halftime. Jimmy was taken to the hospital and the evaluations were negative. He is listed as day-to-day.

He is back at the hotel, and other than not remembering the play, is doing well. Good news for Jimmy...

Get well soon, Jimmy! You played great tonight, and you wore the armband well.

It was a little disturbing seeing Conrad stumbling around after that header. It's not surprising that he doesn't remember what happened. He looked pretty out of it.

Yes, I was really concerned for him when I saw him with the gash on his mouth and looking like he couldn't see straight. What a tough hombre that is. There is no doubt I would want Conrad in South Africa backing up DeMerit and/or Gooch.

I liked how Beckerman has played all Gold Cup (as well as Holden, wow). Lots of control and composure. Some great strikes from outside the 18 in the Gold Cup. That's great to see.

Torres what a tool. I'm pretty sure in the FIFA rule book goring opposing players in the stomach with your cleats in the box, is not allowed. Don't need to see any of that confrontation with the ref -- that doesn't belong in the game. That goes for you too Michael Bradley!

Go Nats - beat Honduras.

Wish you the best Conrad, get well soon. My family and I were horrified to see you go down like that, instantly we all said concussion minimum. The greatest part of watching our team play is the fact that we are too good for their low blows and will not engage in such behavior even in retribution. It always makes me proud to support such an honest team with such heart. Keep up the great work.

It was a pretty nasty hit. He probably shouldn't play for awhile, but we're sure going to miss him. Get well soon, man.

Great news that he's doing well. Looked quite scary. Hopefully, we'll see Jim on the field soon enough.

I went to the game literally to see Jimmy play. I was close to tears when he was being taken off the field, barely able to walk straight. It is so good to hear that he is doing well. GET BETTER SOON!

im glad to hear Jimmy is okay... He's had a great tournament and it'd be a shame not to see him play but health is first so if he has to sit out for a while that'll be okay too, I just hope he gets well soon.

That is good to hear he is doing better and with the team. That was so scary watching him and the dazed look he had in his eyes.

Get well soon, as you did such a great job and you are one fearless player!

As a physician I was really concerned when I saw Jimmy take that hit. He got a hit on the most dangerous place on the skull to get a direct hard blow--the Temporal region. A blow there can easily kill you from a bleed right below the bone in that region. They were smart to take him to the hospital and I'm greatly relieved he checked out OK. I doubt he will be allowed to play for awhile.
